The Johan Du Plooy has a ported curved mouthpiece with a central roller filling the port. This roller applies tongue, bar and poll pressure which makes it an effective polo bit. This is similar to a low port coscojero Pelham also know as the "salivador".
The mouth pieces is made from blue sweet iron, because it:
oxidizes easily
encourages salivation
helps bit acceptance
is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.
The Polo Pelham is supplied with stubby curb hooks and a flat link polo curb chain.
