To measure your head circumference accurately for a custom helmet, follow these steps:
*We highly recommend measuring your head circumference in centimeters for a more accurate measurement*
Use a Flexible Measuring Tape: Ensure you use a soft, flexible measuring tape (such as a cloth or plastic one) for precise measurements.
Position the Tape Correctly: Start by positioning the measuring tape about 1 cm above your eyebrows and around the largest part of the back of your head, ensuring it crosses over the bump at the back of your skull (the occipital bone). This is typically the widest part of your head.
Keep the Tape Flat and Snug: Ensure that the measuring tape is parallel to the ground and lies flat against the skin, but not too tight. It should have a snug fit without compressing your scalp.
Take the Measurement: Look straight ahead and breathe normally while you take the measurement. Make sure the tape remains in place during the entire measurement.
Record the Measurement: Read the measurement in centimeters, noting the exact circumference. It's best to take the measurement twice for accuracy and to use the larger of the two results if they differ.
This measurement will ensure that the custom helmet fits properly and comfortably, providing maximum safety and performance. Always take the measurement in centimeters, as this is the most commonly used unit for sizing in helmet design.
